over $650,000 ... using what they term
their "Relife
Program"

issue of BLUE LINE - the news reporting publication for the RCMP,
....
There had been a major budget cut and one
division was forced to figure a way to increase the service life of their
fleet of Chevrolet Caprice Cruisers.
In a test, they refurbished three of their
existing vehicles at a cost of $8,000 to $10,000 each, and filled the crankcase,
transmission, differential and power steering units with AMSOIL synthetic
lubricants.
The test vehicles performed so well that -
it was decided to expand the program to the remaining fleet of vehicles
at a savings of over
$650,000.
To date, "The
Re-Life Program"
as it is called, has refurbished thirty Caprices
and has been made available to detachments throughout the province of British
Columbia.
